Rough Shooting & Training

Excellent Spaniel training facilities available! We are forming a rough shooting syndicate, over about 500 acres near Cardiff in the Vale of Glamorgan. The ground is varied, comprising grass and arable fields with good hedgerows. a large area of woodland, which contains a Pheasant release pen, streams, rough banks and copses.

The aim is over the next few years to develop a shoot that allows members to train and rough shoot in a very close to field trial conditions. The shoot will be very reasonable in cost as it will be run on a DIY basis with members helping out for a couple of hours on weekends with feeding, vermin control and habitat improvement etc. Members will also have the use of a part of the ground with a particularly high population of rabbits, where you can always be sure of a few flushes, very useful for steadying a young dog.
